Michael is a Senior Fellow in the Faculty of Law in the University of Melbourne where he designs and conducts value-added tax units in the University of Melbourne’s Master of Laws.
He is a member of the expert panel of the Tax Institute’s Certificate of Applied Tax .
Michael is Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia’s Indirect Taxes Committee and is the Institute’s representative on the ATO’s National Tax Liaison Group, GST subcommittee.
He is a member of the Advisory Panel for the Australian Board of Taxation and the Board’s TIES working group.
He is also a registered tax agent and sole practitioner consultant advising on taxation compliance, design, policy and strategy.
Michael has worked with and for revenue authorities in Australia, New Zealand, Qatar and Asia to provide advice on tax reform matters including policy, design and legislation of value-added, corporate and employment taxes.
